Shruti Haasan on Nepotism: I am in the film industry because of my father

Shruti Haasan on Nepotism - I am in the film industry because of my father

After the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput, there is a debate about nepotism getting increases and everyone is targeting the Star Kid. Everyone believes that Star Kid is in the industry because of his filmy background and not because of his talent. Kangana Ranaut’s was the first to talk about Nepotism in Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan chat show and from there this topic grew day by day.

Recently, When Shruti Haasan was asked about nepotism, she gave a strong response that she is in the industry because of her father Kamal Haasan and of course my film’s doors open due to my surname. If I refuse this, it will not be less than a crime. From my past experience, I can say that the work in Tamil and Telugu films is slightly different from Bollywood. If you are from the filmy background, it will be easy to debut with the first film, but after that, everything depends on your performance. But perhaps this is not in the Bollywood case.

Shruti further added, I did my first Tamil film with Superstar Suriya, who was entered in films because of his father name Shiv Kumar, but whatever she is today is because of his hard work. After launch, you had to prove yourself & work hard to get another film.

In work front, she will be doing Ravi Teja Starrer “Krack”. She will be additionally doing in Jananathan’s Laabam. Beside from this, she will be also seen in Pawan Kalyan’s film “Vakeel Saab” which is a remake of Pink film.
